Mississippi's Moment to Lead
"I believe Mississippi does not have to wait for Washington to fix itself. We can help lead the way. At a time when both parties are trapped in dysfunction, division, and political gamesmanship, Mississippi has an opportunity to show the country something different. By electing an Independent Veteran who is not owned by either party, we can help restore balance to the United States Senate, force both parties to work together, and put the needs of the people ahead of the demands of party politics. This is our chance to move Mississippi from the margins of national politics to the center of real change."
~Ty Pinkins

What if Mississippi could help fix the United States Senate? In a closely divided Senate, even a small group of Independent senators could become the balance point in Washington — not to serve one party or the other, but to require both parties to serve the American people. That is the idea behind the Fulcrum Strategy: Independent senators using their position to bring both parties to the table, encourage good-faith negotiation, and push the Senate to do the work it was elected to do.
That means passing responsible budgets, funding the government on time, protecting our democracy, banning members of Congress from buying, selling, and trading stock while in office, lowering costs for working families, strengthening rural healthcare, supporting veterans, investing in public education, and addressing the real problems people face every day. For too long, Washington has been controlled by a two-party system that rewards chaos, division, self-dealing, and political gamesmanship while everyday Americans are left wondering why their leaders cannot simply do their jobs.
The Fulcrum Strategy gives voters a different path. It does not require handing power from one party to the other and hoping things will finally change. We have tried that over and over again. It requires electing Independent senators who are not owned by either party, not controlled by party bosses, and willing to work with anyone who is serious about delivering results.
Mississippi can play a leadership role in making that happen. For generations, people have talked about Mississippi as if we are always last, always behind, and always waiting on someone else to lead. But this is a moment when Mississippi can step forward and show the country a different way. By electing an Independent Veteran to the United States Senate and help repair a government that too often serves the parties before it serves the people.
Across the country, five Independent Veterans are stepping forward to challenge the failed political status quo. We answered our country’s call to serve before, and we are answering it again. That is why I am running as an Independent Veteran for the United States Senate from Mississippi. As America prepares to celebrate its 250th birthday, we have an opportunity to declare independence from the broken politics that got us here. We can choose courage over fear, service over self-interest, and country over party. That is the Fulcrum Strategy. And that is why this campaign matters.
