Women's Reproductive Freedom
We Must Codify Roe v. Wade

Mississippi ranks among the top ten states with the highest rates of infant and maternal mortality. It's a glaring indication of the urgent need for comprehensive healthcare reform in our state. What's particularly concerning is that some of these states with high infant and maternal mortality rates are the same ones that have implemented draconian abortion bans.

As we strive to address the healthcare crisis in Mississippi, it's imperative that we prioritize women's reproductive freedom. I stand firmly against any attempts to further restrict access to abortion and contraception. Instead, we must work towards expanding access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare services, including family planning and prenatal care. That's why I will fight to codify Roe v. Wade.

It's clear that restricting access to reproductive healthcare not only endangers women's lives but also exacerbates existing healthcare disparities. By denying women the right to make decisions about their own bodies, these policies contribute to maternal mortality and perpetuate systemic inequality.

As a country, we cannot afford to ignore the pressing need for reform. We must invest in programs and services that support women's reproductive health and empower them to make informed choices about their bodies and futures. This includes ensuring access to safe and legal abortion care, as well as comprehensive prenatal care and family planning services.

I believe firmly that every woman deserves access to quality healthcare, regardless of her income or zip code. It's time to put an end to policies that restrict women's rights and endanger their lives. I will fight tirelessly in the Senate to protect and expand women's reproductive freedom and ensure that all Mississippians have access to the care they need to thrive.
