Press Intern (Summer)
Ty Pinkins for Mississippi is seeking a Paid Press Intern to become key members of our Communications team. Press Interns will help manage the Communication team’s media monitoring infrastructure, draft communications materials, and much more. This opportunity is an excellent chance for students or recent grads to sharpen their written and verbal communication skills. The Communications team is looking for an intuitive individual with an eye for detail. Applicants should be adaptable and passionate with a knack for writing and a keen sense of Georgia's ever changing media landscape. This position takes place in a fast-paced, campaign environment that regularly requires early mornings, accurate work on tight deadlines, and the ability to manage competing priorities and projects. Duties
● Assist the campaign’s media monitoring efforts;
● Research and track national, state and local media inquiries;
● Draft internal and external communications materials Qualifications
● Strong writing and research skills, attention to detail, responsiveness, and passion for the work
● Familiarity with Mississippi and political communications a plus
Logistics
● Salary: $15.00/hour
● Location: Jackson, MS
● Hours: 40 hours weekly, requiring some early mornings. The internship will run from mid August through November
