Deputy Communications Director
Ty Pinkins for U.S. Senate is hiring an experienced Deputy Communications Director. This position will help develop and execute the campaign’s earned media strategy, supervise the communications team, and manage relationships with local and national press.
The Deputy Communications Director is expected to work closely with the communications director and across departments to drive an aggressive earned media strategy in a demanding media environment and take a leadership role on a large communications team.
Our ideal applicant will have three to four years, or two campaign cycles, of communications experience. Responsibilities:

Assist the communications director with management of communications team;

Work with consulting team and communications director to develop communications strategies;

Oversee execution of principal travel and short-term communications plans;

Work with press secretary to manage day-to-day press responsibilities and rapid response;

Execute earned media events, coach surrogates, and seek out news opportunities in alignment with long-term communications objectives
Qualifications:

Experience in media or public relations;

Campaign, advocacy, or government experience preferred;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail;

Ability to multitask and manage both short-and long-term priorities;

Leadership qualities and a demonstrated ability to work well in a team setting
